As a professional photographer, I believe in and enjoy using the latest up-to-date camera gear. Providing the client with the best possible imagery is very important to me. After all, cheap gear that doesn't perform or is unreliable is very frustrating. And just in case there is a failure, I always carry a spare so that the session isn't interrupted.
The current inventory of equipment is as below (but may be slightly out of date as equipment is frequently updated).

CAMERAS
Canon 40D 10Mp Light, fast, and great resolution for the best all rounder travel camera. Canon 5D 12Mp Back Up full-frame camera should anything happen to the new 5Dii. Canon 5Dii 21Mp Super high resolution, full frame giving the widest angles for interiors and superior out-of-focus backgrounds for portraits. Canon 1Dmk2 8.2Mp The work horse. Super quick focus and drive-speed/frame-rate. Fast, reliable, weather sealed. Great for Weddings, sport. |

LENSES
Zenitar 16mm Fisheye Good fun lens giving an unusual and unique view of the world. Something different. Canon 50mm f1.4 Super fast lenses for low light work and tack sharp for high detail. Canon 50mm f2.5 macro When things get tiny, this lens will magnify and produce very detailed interested photos. Great for flowers, insects and jewellery. Canon 28-200mm f3.5 Small, light compact and discrete, makes a geat all round travel lens for walkabout photography. Also makes a great little multi-purpose backup lens. Canon 17-40mm f4 Flexible rectilinear lenses for wide angle shots of interiors and landscapes. Zoom good for flexiblilty and fast composition optimisation. Canon 24-70mm f2.8 USM Fast midrange zoom for general purpose portrait and journalistic shooting. Great in low light with f2.8 aperture. Canon 70-200mm f2.8 IS USM Fantastic fast zoom featuring f2.8 and Image Stabilisation for low light and tripod-less shooting. My favourite wedding lens. Canon 70-200mm f2.8 IS USM II The successor to the 70-200mm version I, with improved optics, focus and Image stabilsation. How can something great get even better? Well it did! Canon 300mm f4 IS USM Special purpose fast telephoto with USM (fast and silent) focussing, and Image Stabilisation ('built-in-tripod') when a tripod will slow you down. Canon 100-400mm f3.5 IS USM This beautiful multifunction zoom features USM focus and dual mode Image Stabilisation for walk around sport and wildlife photography. Sigma 50-500mm A large 10x zoom lens with Sigmas HSM focus system. Goes from 50mm to 500mm in 2 seconds! MORE Also amoungst the gear is teleconvertors and extension tubes for providing flexibility in modifying the magnification of all lenses. |
